Inspiration for your itinerary
Coming from Manchester or the east? Stop off at Dunham Massey, around 20 minutes from the hotel. Look out for the resident fallow deer as you explore the parkland, tackle the Log Pile natural play area or simply enjoy a good run-around after the drive.
Travelling from Chester or North Wales? Build in a stop at The Ice Cream Farm. There are more than 50 flavours to choose from, alongside sand and water play, adventure golf, a racetrack and plenty more to keep the kids entertained.
Animal lovers won’t want to miss Chester Zoo, around 25 minutes away. With thousands of animals to spot, it’s an easy place to fill a whole day - comfy shoes are definitely recommended.
For thrill-seekers, Gulliver’s World is a fantastic day out. Designed especially for younger families, it’s packed with rides, shows and play areas to keep everyone busy from morning until home time.
Or slow things down a little at Tatton Park, around 20 minutes away. Explore the huge deer park, visit the working farm, wander through the gardens and leave plenty of time for the adventure playground.
Got competitive kids? Head to TeamSport Warrington, just a short drive from the hotel. Children aged eight and over can race around a 1,000m multi-level indoor karting track, complete with 22 corners and a Monaco-style tunnel. Perfect for settling once and for all who’s the fastest in the family.
For something outdoorsy, try the Manley Mere Adventure Trail. This is no gentle stroll through the woods - expect rope swings, balancing challenges, obstacles and plenty of opportunities to get muddy. A change of clothes for the journey back to the hotel is highly recommended!
Animal fans can head to Gauntlet Birds of Prey near Knutsford. Meet eagles, vultures, owls and hawks, watch the flying display and burn off some energy in the wooden fort play area.
There’s no need to plan an outing for every minute of your break, especially with plenty to do at the hotel itself.
Pack the swimming stuff and head to the pool during dedicated family swim times, challenge the kids to a board game or take the competition outside with a family tennis match on one of the hotel’s three courts.
Book a final furry encounter at Woodlands Alpaca Farm in Thelwall. Take an alpaca for a walk through the Cheshire countryside, feed the animals and meet some of the farm’s other residents. Visits typically take around one to two hours, making it an easy final treat before the journey home.
