Hotel restaurant in Warrington, Cheshire.

We’ve stayed here a lot of the years but it’s gone down hill in terms of poor staffing. Not enough on reception, behind the bar & waiting/ clearing staff at breakfast. It’s quite a nice Hotel, advertising air conditioned rooms, on arrival we were assured our room would have air con. It didnt, just a noisy electric fan. We asked for another room with air con which was almost above the spa, which involved quite a long walk for me as I have mobility issues but it did have air con. Not the most helpful lady on reception, but under pressure I think. Breakfast was good but the tables were not cleared as people left so you had to go round the dining room and yourself find a clean laid up table. Hygiene wasn’t great, a supervisor on 2 mornings cleared & wiped the tables then reset the them with mugs containing cutlery & napkins which she had tucked under her free arm - yuk! She then put the mugs on the table, fingers all over the rims, the same fingers that had just cleared used plates cutlery etc. I thought this was very unhygienic, and as she appeared to be a ‘supervisor’ wearing a badge I thought this was disgraceful. The other staff were few on the ground, so the whole scene and our experience was far from relaxed. In the bar the staffo were run off their feet with only 1 till operating for the whole bar. Wouldn’t stay there again but it’s a convenient location for visiting relatives. The bed was also not very comfortable & creaked every time you moved, and we are not big people. The room cleaners were all very nice, friendly and did a good job. We are staying there again next month but not looking forward to it. Standards have certainly dropped!

A really enjoyable stay, ideal base for visiting various National Trust sites. The staff were very friendly, I gather that the restaurant maybe transitioning with new waiting staff. Jake in the restaurant deserves a mention very professional and friendly manner. Lovely food, enjoyed the leisure centre and a good nights sleep. If you need a place to stay near Warrington well worth considering.

On a recent trip to the leisure centre hoping to have a swim we were unable to hire a towel as they hadn’t arrived back from the laundry. Thankfully Joseph stepped in and went out of his way to try and find some for us. He checked housekeeping and the spa, eventually finding us something to use. Very impressed and very grateful. Thank you Joseph.

I had an induction today at the Park Royal Gym, Alex the Personal Trainer at the Spa is the best person to get a training course with, he explains everything so clearly, and the apparatus demonstrations were clear and precise, Alex offers One to one training at the spa … I would highly recommend him … I feel happy knowing my weekly plan..

Lovely hotel, visited for a night with a friend for a spa break. The spa are is lovely and the massuse was very good. There are child swimmng lessons on when you use the spa, which you should be made aware when booking as it can ruin the expereince if you think it will be a quiet break. Although this is only during certain times so please check. The food was lovely in the restuarant as well for the evening meal and breakfast was really good too. Restaurant staff all seem very young and so service was slow, but we were in no rush so it didn't bother us but just to be aware. The food more than made up for it. Beds are comfortable and rooms are lovely. Over all we had a great time.

Had a lovely experience, the highlight was the meal in the evening. The waiter (Luke) was exceptional. Very personable and attentive, made our stay brilliant! Cherry on top!

Excellent spacious room and very comfortable bed. Some issues with key card but resolved. Evening meal service a bit slow and getting drinks from bar was slothful. Foood at evening meal good. Breakfast excellent

We were greeted by Victoria at the reception who was extremely welcoming and provided us with all the essential information we needed. Our room was immaculate and the services such as gym, pool and bar/restaurant were all up to standard. Lovely hotel overall and will definitely be back again soon!

Just returned from a Royal Navy reunion weekend at the Park Royal. The hotel was a great venue for our event. The staff were the star of the show though , we all fully tested the bar facilities and a few teething problems were overcome for us all to enjoy a great weekend with old shipmates. Shout out to Jake , Dan and Poppy who kept the bar running smoothly on our Saturday Gala dinner , well done guys.

Greeted on arrival by friendly helpful staff. Great facilities, supplied with everything we needed. Spa day experience allowed us to use the pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi before the best facial in the spa by Katherine, it was so relaxing. We then had a light lunch with a glass of prosecco which was so tasty. This spa day was great from start to finish and very reasonable on price, I will be back soon.

Weekend stay attending a reunion. Room was very nice-upgraded. Evening meal on the Saturday was excellent and the waiting staff were great. Dan, Jake and Poppy well done! Breakfasts were not great. Coffee machine not working and it was such a long wait on the Sunday we gave up! Also bar ran out of beer and cider. Would visit again, hopefully when it’s less busy!

There was much to like about this visit. We appreciated being recognised by Dawid on reception and Sam in the dining room. The room was spacious and well appointed. We were there on a Breakaway Club package which gives excellent value. However, there were some niggles... For the afternoon tea, we were crushed into a table with two others at the back of the area looking onto the back of the coffee machines. That certainly did not make us feel special especially as there was plenty of room. I also complained about the scones as they had been microwaved and had become solid bricks by the time we came to try to eat them. I mentioned this to the woman in charge who served us but she made no response. In general, the breakfast was chaotic and needs better management. There is a clear shortage of staff but they also need better training and direction of duties. We were pleased to see an additional two coffee machines as the lack of machines has been a chronic problem. However, on the second morning they were all not working. On the last morning, they had run out of eggs and butter. No matter how busy the hotel was over the weekend, the person in charge of catering should be able to keep basics in stock.

We had a great stay at The Park Royal, beds very comfy, rooms clean, spa clean and lovely pool. Victoria on reception made it special for us. The check in was smooth and she was able to check us in early which I requested due to travelling far. The balloons in the room were a nice touch for his birthday. Dinner was good and made special also for him. Check out once again Victoria made very smoothly and definitely would like to mention her kindness. Breakfast was great, but shame there was just the one coffee machine working when it was a very busy Sunday morning.

Amazing hotel great staff Victoria and Tom at the front desk absolutely fantastic Service We had a lovely lunch Coronation chicken on Granary bread and club sandwich on White. It was delicious. The Prosecco was lovely too. The Spa and the treatments were amazing I had a girl called Amy do my massage she was amazing. Emma did my Mum 💗’s massage. He was also good as well. We were served by Mason in the restaurant for our dinner where the lamb was delicious and so was the gammon as well as the bread and butter pudding which was worth coming back all the way just for that!! Mason was friendly professional and made our experience much more fun on a Monday night ! Bed was comfortable Room was nice and quiet because it was at the back we had a room 132. I would definitely stay in that room again. Thank you for a lovely day. See you in a few months. We’ve been coming every year since I was 18 and I’m now nearly 36 !
